My journey:

​

• Northern California native; moved to Southern California to go to college

• Earned my BS in Biology from UC Irvine in 2002

• Attempted a Master's in Biology; it didn't work out

• Worked in the pharma industry as a chemist and in QA/validation to pay the bills

• Worked side hustles; became self-taught in computers

• Taught office and graphics applications at a private international school for 5+ years

• Studied and earned the CompTIA "trifecta" in 2012 (A+ / Network+ / Security+)

• Taught computer info systems part-time at Long Beach City College and Santa Monica College from 2014-2017

• Earned my Master's in Education from Cal State Fullerton in 2017 - fully online

• Became a full-time faculty member at Long Beach City College in 2017

• Tenured in 2021

• Lead for the Computer Technology program

• Serving on the curriculum committee

• Still writing my story...more to come
